Funny Videos top Mobile Video Category according to Nielsen

Adweek reports viewers are looking for laughs on their mobile phones. According to a recent Mobile Video Report published by Nielsen, top mobile video categories are comedy, weather, sports, music and news/finance.

• Mobile viewing has seen a 20% increase in viewership since last quarter.
• More than 60% of thos watching video on their mobiles are below the age of 25, with 70% within 18-49 demographic
• NBC 40.1%, Fox (38.3), MTV Networks (32.9), YouTube (29.4%), Weather Channel (28.9) and Comedy Central (25.8).

Interesting to see that most of the top sites are from TV network/cable channels.

Viewers watch mobile videos for an average 13 session/month, about 15' per session.
